L2F – The Lichfield Festival of Folk

Some of the great names of Folk will be appearing in Lichfield this autumn with L2F – The Lichfield Festival of Folk presented by Lichfield Arts.

Names such as Britain’s foremost shanty group Kimber’s Men, the world renowned John Kirkpatrick, the unique Les Barker, festival favourites ‘Meet on the Ledge’ and for lovers of Colvin Quarmby ‘The Jigantics’ are supported by an impressive list of up and coming talent as well as the very best from the Folk world.

Lichfield Festival of Folk

A fringe festival starts on 21 October with the opportunity to join the Lichfield Lighthouse Company in a rousing shanty session in the King's Head, Bird Street, this is followed on 22 October by the chance to try your hand at morris dancing with Lichfield Morris Men in the George IV, Bore Street. On Wednesday 23 October it is back to the King's Head for a sing around with floor spots from Ian Henerey, the Walsall Poet Laureate and Ian Philpot. All these sessions have free entrance. A pub quiz with a twist takes place in the King's Head on Thursday 24 October when teams are invited to answer general knowledge questions but with themes based on English traditions thrown in. A supper is available. More details about the Fringe Festival can be found On the Lichfield Arts website
